1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how Abbey Harlow Nonprofit Consulting LLC, doing business as Harlow Nonprofit Consulting ("we," "us," "our"), collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit harlownonprofitconsulting.com, register for the Rural Nonprofit Leader Summit, purchase the Rural Roots Toolkit, or join the Rural Roots Roundtable membership.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly, including:

• Name and email address, when you register for the Summit, subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us

• Payment information, when you purchase the Toolkit or join the Roundtable (collected and processed by Stripe, not stored on our own servers)

• Anything you submit through forms, such as the Roundtable's member request form, surveys, or event applications

• Messages you send us directly, by email or through the community platform
  

We also automatically collect some technical information when you visit the Site, such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, through standard website analytics and cookies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Register you for the Summit and give you access to the sessions

• Process your Toolkit purchase and Roundtable membership, including billing

• Send you emails: transactional messages (receipts, access details), newsletters, and marketing about our programs

• Operate the Rural Roots Roundtable community, including onboarding and member communication

• Respond to questions or requests you send us

• Run advertising, including showing you or similar audiences relevant ads on platforms like Meta (Facebook/Instagram), and measuring how our ads perform

• Improve the Site and our programs

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on other companies to run our business, and your information may pass through their systems as part of that. These currently include:

• Squarespace — website hosting

• Stripe — payment processing

• Circle— hosting the Rural Roots Roundtable membership space

• Flodesk — sending newsletters and program emails, and connecting our systems to each other

• Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — advertising and retargeting
  

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your data. We choose providers we believe handle data responsibly, but we don't control their practices directly.

We don't sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Cookies and Tracking

Our Site may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (including advertising pixels) to remember your preferences, understand how visitors use the Site, and show you relevant ads on other platforms. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect how the Site works for you.

6. Email Communications

If you register for the Summit, purchase the Toolkit, or join the Roundtable, you'll receive related transactional emails. If you opt in to our newsletter or marketing emails, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.

7. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the Services, maintain business records, and meet legal or tax obligations, and then delete or anonymize it.

8. Your Rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing abbey@harlownonprofitconsulting.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time. Some information (like billing records) may need to be kept for legal or accounting reasons even after a deletion request.

If you're a resident of a state with its own privacy law (such as California or Colorado), you may have additional rights under that law; contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate them.

9. Children's Privacy

The Services are intended for adults working in or with nonprofit organizations. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we'll delete any such information if we become aware of it.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including relying on established, reputable third-party providers (like Stripe) for sensitive data such as payment details. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we'll notify you within a reasonable time as required by law.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page.

Terms and Conditions

1. Who This Agreement Is With

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Abbey Harlow Nonprofit Consulting LLC, doing business as Harlow Nonprofit Consulting ("we," "us," "our"), governing your use of harlownonprofitconsulting.com (the "Site") and any program, event, product, or membership we offer through it, including the Rural Nonprofit Leader Summit, the Rural Roots Toolkit, and the Rural Roots Roundtable membership (collectively, the "Services").

By registering for the Summit, purchasing the Toolkit, joining the Roundtable, or otherwise using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.

2. Who Can Use the Services

You must be at least 18 years old to register, purchase, or become a member. The Services are intended for nonprofit leaders and professionals; anyone may register for the free Summit ticket, but paid offers are billed and fulfilled to the person who completes checkout.

3. Description of Services

• Rural Nonprofit Leader Summit: A free virtual event with a limited access window per day, as described on the registration page at the time of your registration.

• Rural Roots Toolkit: A one-time paid upgrade that extends access to Summit content and adds bonus resources and live sessions, as described on the Toolkit page at the time of purchase.

• Rural Roots Roundtable: A recurring paid membership community, currently offered with a free trial period before the monthly rate begins, as described on the membership page at the time you join.

Specific features, bonuses, dates, and pricing are as stated on the relevant page at the time of your registration or purchase, and may change for future participants without changing what you already purchased.

4. Payment

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number on our own systems. By purchasing the Toolkit or joining the Roundtable, you authorize us to charge the payment method you provide for the applicable one-time or recurring fee, including future monthly charges until you cancel.

5. No Refunds

All purchases are final. This includes the Rural Roots Toolkit and any month of Rural Roots Roundtable membership already billed. We don't issue refunds for:

• Change of mind after purchase

• Not attending live sessions or using the material you had access to

• Partial months of membership, including the final month before you cancel

• The free trial converting into a paid month because it wasn't canceled before the trial ended

Canceling your Rural Roots Roundtable membership: You can cancel anytime before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the following month. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid (or trial) period. We don't prorate or refund the current period.

If something goes genuinely wrong on our end (a billing error, a technical failure that prevented you from accessing something you paid for), email abbey@harlownonprofitconsulting.com and we'll make it right on a case-by-case basis. 

6. Chargebacks
If you have a billing concern, please email us first at abbey@harlownonprofitconsulting.com so we can look into it. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer instead of contacting us first is a breach of these Terms, and we may immediately suspend or end your access to the Toolkit or Roundtable in response, in addition to any other rights we have

7. Intellectual Property

All content we provide through the Summit, the Toolkit, and the Roundtable, including recordings, worksheets, templates, the resource library, and community materials, belongs to Harlow Nonprofit Consulting or our speakers and partners. It's licensed to you for your own personal or organizational use.

You may not resell, redistribute, publicly share, or repost this material, or use it to create a competing product or program, without our written permission.

8. Community Conduct (Rural Roots Roundtable)

Membership is hosted on a third-party community platform. To keep it a good place for rural nonprofit leaders, we expect members to:

• Treat other members and any guests with respect

• Keep information shared by other members within the community confidential

• Not use the community to solicit sales, recruit for unrelated programs, or spam other members

We can remove any member from the community, without refund, for violating these expectations or for behavior we determine, in our judgment, is harmful to the community. Anything you post in the community may be visible to other members and is not private or confidential to u

9.Speaker, Guest, and Contributor Content

If you appear as a speaker, guest, or contributor for the Summit or any Harlow Nonprofit Consulting program (including submitting a bio, headshot, video, or recorded session), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to record, edit, host, and reuse that content, and your name, likeness, and voice, to promote and deliver the Summit and related programs, both during the live event and afterward (for example, in replays, marketing, or future programs). If you'd rather we not reuse something past the live event, tell us in writing before the Summit and we'll work with you on that.

If you submit a testimonial, review, or story about your experience with our programs, you give us permission to use it, in whole or in part, in our marketing, with attribution by first name and organization unless you ask us not to.

10. Not Professional Advice

Harlow Nonprofit Consulting provides coaching, consulting, facilitation, and educational content on nonprofit leadership, strategy, and fundraising. Nothing we provide through the Summit, the Toolkit, the Roundtable, or any other Service is legal, tax, financial, accounting, or HR advice. You're responsible for getting qualified professional advice specific to your organization before acting on anything you learn from us.

11. No Guaranteed Results

Examples, testimonials, and stories we share reflect individual experiences. They aren't a promise of what you or your organization will achieve. Your results depend on your own effort, circumstances, and organization, and we don't guarantee any specific funding, revenue, membership, or leadership outcome.

12. Third-Party Platforms

We use third-party tools to deliver the Services, including but not limited to Stripe (payments), a community platform, and email and automation tools. Your use of those platforms may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We aren't responsible for the availability, security, or practices of third-party platforms.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Harlow Nonprofit Consulting and its owner won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services, including lost revenue, lost data, or lost opportunities. Our total liability for any claim related to the Services is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
